In line with my promise to bring quicker, but also smaller incremental updates to DayCalc, I am now proud to present version 2.1. With this new release the app is moving forward in an evolutionary sense. Let's dive right in:
What's new in Version 2.1?
Speaking generally, there are a lot of visual improvements throughout of DayCalc. One of the more notable ones is the replacement of many of the icons, especially the ones used for the tab bar. They are now more meaningful and easier on the eyes.
The Calendar has learned some new tricks as well. You can now add new events to your stock iOS calendar right from within DayCalc. In the future this will be update with additional export options. For right now basic support is here, but you will not yet be able to set up alerts, invites or make events repeat. Furthermore search can now also be invoked with a search button in the navigation bar.
The biggest change has occured withing the Events List. It is not even called that anymore. Now it is simply Deadlines and it allows you to set up important tasks that you want to manage. By seeing how many days you have left, when looking at a list of deadlines it becomes easy to prioritise them and manage your time efficiently. Of course you can still set all of the important information (title, location, start & end dates, url and notes) and get reminded with push notifications.
Finally 3D touch support from the home screen was extended and you are able to quickly add new calendar events and deadlines. Other changes mostly consist of under the hood improvements.
